In the case of Ehlers Danlos Syndromes and other Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders, many patients will present to general musculoskeletal practices but can present with very complex needs as a result of the widespread impacts of the altered connective tissue in every body system, a range of comorbid conditions that frequently occur in these patients, and their individual journeys navigating the health system with complex, multi-system, rare diseases.
